Leggings have proved to be a popular fashion trend and an essential wardrobe staple for years. But despite their serious staying power, confusion about how to wear them and what to pair with them still lingers on. Should they be worn as tights? Which fashion rules apply to them?
Leggings aren’t just a fashion trend from the 80’s. It turns out that they date all the way back to the Renaissance age. Men and women have been wearing something similar in various forms throughout the centuries for warmth and protection. Then the fitness and aerobics craze of the 80’s took leggings from the dance studio to the street, with pop stars like Madonna and Cindy Lauper changing how women dressed. Leggings returned to the fashion scene almost two decades ago, and they are here to stay.
One of the most popular leggings is the fleece lined leggings. Every time I am asked how I can manage to keep wearing dresses all winter long, I tell them “fleece-lined leggings! Fall and winter are nice, but they tend to wreak havoc on your available clothing options. When you are forced to cover every inch of your skin to avoid succumbing to frost bite, it can be tempting to stick to jeans only and give dresses a break. Luckily, it is now easy to find the warmest fleece lined leggings to pair and layer with your favourite outfits.
They are so cozy and comfortable and will allow you to ditch your skinny jeans all season long, while keeping frostbite at bay. They add very little extra bulk and pack a great deal of warmth. If you haven’t jumped on the fleece leggings train, you are truly missing out.
Fleece lined leggings come in different styles as well as an array of colors; some are cropped, some are long, some are high-waisted and some sit right at your hips. I like to find pairs that don’t look like I am missing an item of clothes overtop. One of the best things about leggings is that a whole variety of shoes will work with them. Fleece lined leggings for winter are perfect with knee-high boots or ankle boots. In the warmer weather, a pair of pumps, wedge, ballet flats or sandals is stunning with leggings.
I wouldn’t recommend thick fleece lined leggings for yoga or workout because they would probably hold sweat.
Due to the cozy polyester and spandex, black fleece lined leggings are equipped with warmth, so you don’t have to worry about wearing layers upon layers on your bottom outfit. The black color makes it a great and basic product to dress up and style however you want. They have the warmth, thickness, and comfort of your favourite pants and the flattering fit and slimming effect of leggings. They will keep you warm without overheating and are perfect for hiking, skiing, camping.
The seams run up the inside of the legs and meet at the crotch. The wide band is very comfortable and does not dig into my waist so you won’t have to worry about the muffin look. However, I have seen some people complain that the waist keeps sliding down. Majority of them are not thin and flimsy so you can actually get away with wearing them as pants. Some black fleece lined leggings have a slight sheen, but I think this makes them easier to spot clean. Wash with dark colors only.
Plush fleece-lined tights are lined with super soft fleece that doesn’t add any extra bulk and feature non-binding waistbands for ultimate comfort. They are made of polyester and spandex. Blending spandex with other fabrics creates a more stable, durable garment so you don’t have to worry about runs, rips or tears. Adding spandex to a fabric also provides a higher level of comfort, a longer shelf life, and a better resistance to perspiration and body oils.
Perfect for pairing with tunics, skirts, and dresses, they come in a range of colors such as black, brown, navy, and grey. They are available in a variety of styles including Full-foot, Footless, Stirrup, Maternity, Knee-Highs and Thigh-Highs. Offering a variety of super lux, cozy styles in spandex, cotton and faux leather fabrics, these extra warm leggings are a winter wardrobe staple to wear all season long. They are the best way to stay warm and stylish during cold winter weather. In addition to your everyday basics, printed styles, pops of color and faux leather embellishments give plenty of options for every style.
The sizes are a little tricky, though, as they seem to run differently depending on color. They are amazingly comfortable and warm, especially considering how thin they are. This makes them ideal to be worn under jeans, too, for extra warmth. The washing recommendations are “hand wash, line dry” and “wash with similar colors.” Some pill a little after a few washes and a lot of wear.
Printed fleece lined leggings are a chic trend and have a place in every season of fashion. Make a bold statement while keeping incredibly warm in bright, colorful and eye catching prints and patterns: flowers, tribal and more. The best part about printed leggings is that there are so many multi-colored fleece lined leggings options to choose from. Everybody can find a pair to suit their individual fashion sense and add rich, beautiful color and vibrancy to their outfits.
For everyday printed leggings look I suggest keeping everything else simple and letting your leggings be the center of attention. I have seen complaints about the length being too short so it might be advisable to go for a size up when placing an order. The waistband does stretch out a little bit with wear, but usually tightens back up with a wash.
For the first few months, pregnant women can get away with the style essentials they already have. But when regular clothes start to feel uncomfortable, most women find it a daunting task to dress the growing bump while still maintaining their fashion appeal. Fleece Lined Maternity Leggings give a stylish and perfect fit throughout second and third trimester.
They are super soft, stretchy and go over the belly, which is very convenient because when your baby belly is getting rounder each day the last thing you want to feel is constriction. The leggings are moldable and they have an adjustable waistband which provides support for your bump. Since they are not bulky, you will be able to stay warm without needing lots of layers.
The fleece lined leggings for plus sized women are great for winter wear. They are soft, thick, warm and comfortable. They are made of polyester, cotton and spandex. The fleece lined, stretchy fabric is opaque enough to cover all your lumps and bumps, but it can become sheer when stretched out too thin.
The high waist gives you a slimmer silhouette and the waistband is wide enough to really hold your waist in without cutting into your belly and giving you the dreadful muffin look. Some customers have noted that some of the new plus size fleece leggings have a chemical smell which requires several washes to come off.
The fleece lined leggings craze is fueled by their balance of on-trend style with simple ease, their body-friendly look yet comfortable fit. Whether you dress them up or dress them down, leggings are a transitional staple that can carry you from season to season. And they can be worn in so many different ways once you master the art of layering. Having a variety of colors, prints, and textures gives you a stack of options which will make your style routine a hundred times easier.
You can also add a belt over a tunic or dress to add flair and give more shape to the outfit. I am a big fan of stretchy belts because they are more comfortable, but lower slung belts can work, too. This is an opportunity to get creative.
Pair with long sweaters, tunics and tees and stay comfortable all day.
